Underdog
#LoveOzYA Short Stories
Short tales from the Australian writers of tomorrow
Underdog is the first #LoveOzYA short story anthology for unpublished Australian writers. We are seeking submissions from Australian young adult fiction writers of all ages.
We believe young adult fiction is the perfect form for expressing what it means to be Australian, given that our country is, in essence, a 'young adult' itself. We are particularly interested in short stories that celebrate the diverse, dynamic and ever-changing nature of our young nation's culture, or that challenge the idea of what it means to be 'Australian'.
At Underdog, we are dedicated to providing unpublished writers with a platform for their stories, as we believe there are too many brilliant tales that never get told, too many voices that go unheard. The selected short stories will be published in an anthology by a local independent publisher in 2018.
The Four Seasons Music Festival ramps up for Spring
The Four Seasons Fine Music Festival offers four outstanding weekend festivals of fine music and song. Performances are linked to the heat of February’s High Summer, to the cusp of Autumn-Winter in Clunes, to shadows and shimmering candlelight and the heady aroma of mulled wine in the Winter Solstice, and the effervescent renewal of life and energy with Spring Vitality.
Musicians will play an extensive range of western, European and Indian musical instruments, including the beautiful historic pipe organs at St John’s Church, Creswick and St Paul’s Church, Clunes.
Each venue has first class acoustics, with each church being a significant building in the historic central Victorian goldfields area. The festival will annually showcase a great diversity of quality music and choral performance.

These colours are ones a farmer would recognise, noting the time to plant or harvest or appreciating that it's time to protect from fire. They also reveal a deep love and respect.
