Ash Wattle

Ash Wattle was created from a need for stillness, a way to invite calm into both my practice and the spaces my work inhabits.

I was drawn to the form of the wattle tree, but chose to shift it from its usual golden glow into softer, dusky pinks. This transformation felt like a dream memory of nature, a quiet, gentle, and emotional presence. The charcoal background brings a grounding presence where things settle and become still.

The two magpies, often symbol voice and movement, here they are captured in rest. They are observers, not performers, holding space rather than commanding it.

Through a combination of illustration, laser cut precision and hand painted acrylic, I wanted to balance with control, an intuition to create something that feels both deliberate and tender.

Ash Wattle is a pause. A breath. A quiet invitation to notice, to listen, and to feel without noise.
