Welcome to the Ballarat Arts Foundation

 

Initiated through the inspiration of the Rotary Club of Ballarat South in the year 2000, the Ballarat Arts Foundation (BAF) provides grants and support to emerging local artists.

 

Since inception the Foundation has granted awards to talented performing and visual artists in a wide variety of disciplines enabling them to take the next step in their artistic careers.

 

In addition to the biannual BAF Awards, the Foundation offers 'Occasional' or 'Named' Awards, and also supports other Awards and Scholarships. See Awards

 

A not-for-profit organisation, the Foundation continues to benefit from the generosity of Benefactors and Foundation Donors, Principal Supporters and Community Partners, media colleagues, Honorary Members and members of the local arts community.

 

In 2008 patron David Hobson launched the Corporate Circle to build a corpus of funds as a measure to secure our sustainable future.

 

The Foundation is proud of its record of advancing artists to higher national and international levels.

 

Several BAF award recipients (Alumni) now study or work overseas participating in or presenting papers at international conferences. Internationally-acclaimed artists share their expertise and experience with aspiring artists in our workshops, masterclasses, concerts, recitals and exhibitions.
